There is an infinite number of feelings that can be created for someone through music. Whether it's motivation or relaxation, music is something that can serve an extraordinary amount of purposes. This musical and mental connection is perfectly exemplified through Strumbrush. The alternative band out of Roswell, Georgia has been serving the people's purpose since 2018. Started by 20-year-old Foster Wells, Strumbrush has branded itself through countless amounts of singles, EPs, and albums.

"Even though I played music growing up I never really ever imagined that I'd ever be able to make my own or be a musician", Foster stated. "That all changed when my friend Jack, the live band's current lead guitarist, showed me his recording program and how he had started to write and record music." This seemed to be the catalyst for Foster to invest his time and money into his love for music. Some of his influences include The Strokes and Radiohead and is still inspired by "DIY artists" such as Tame Impala and Still Woozy. This doesn't include Foster's biggest influence, though, being Dave Grohl. "He was the first artist I had heard of that had recorded an entire album by himself, which was incredibly motivating to me when I started to write," he said.

As many people know, being a small musician and building yourself publicly from the ground up is hard work. Foster believed this and added that he thought the hardest aspect included the pressure. "There is a pressure that comes with aspiring to feel legitimate in an arena of so many talented and creative people," he said. He also mentioned the challenge of producing and learning the ins and outs of music's technical side.

During the interview, Foster included one of his favorite stories with the live band. "When we played at a small festival called lemonade days, the current line up of the band at that time all rode together in one car," he said. "We arrived at the festival and kept getting wrong directions from different staff telling us where to park, and we somehow wound up driving on one of the roads that the festival was literally set up on with floats and stands and such, which lead to multiple staff running up to us and yelling at us thinking we were just some random kids driving directly at the festival."
